It is likely a pointless attempt at disguising the address from robotic e-mail address harvesting. It was designed to be easy for a person to figure out but hopefully it will give a computer's optical character recognition software total fits. I tried it and none of my OCR software could make heads or tails out of it.

I avoided using a link that automatically launches your e-mail client. This used to work OK in a business environment where the entire office was using Microsoft Exchange. Now, if you are like most people, your e-mail is likely on-line and the automatic links have a difficult time finding your e-mail account.

You might also have several e-mail accounts - business, personal, etc. The automatic link can't tell which one to launch.

I also avoided using a fill in form as they don't stop the serious spam artists. They just fill up the form with advertisements for "beautiful aluminum siding" that would look really great over my outside walls of stone and stucco.

I absolutely despise CAPTCHA puzzles that you've got to "solve" before you can send a form. I will never use anything that ridiculous.

If there is something that can be handled better over the phone, send me an e-mail and we'll exchange phone numbers. If you have my number but I don't have yours to identify you as a real person, your phone call will be ignored as my phone system will figure it is a likely telemarketer call and dump it in the trash. We need to reinstate hanging, drawing, and quartering for the jackass phone marketers and phone scam artists. Same or worse treatment for e-mail scammers, spammers, virus producers, and all the rest of the less than human ilk lurking around the web.

Please remember that I occasionally sleep, eat, and even go out once in a while so I don't monitor the e-mail minute by minute 24 hours a day. I will get back to you as soon as I can.

One last thing -

If you receive an "unexpected" e-mail supposedly from me - it's NOT from me. The e-mail scam artists can easily spoof the return address to hide where the e-mail actually originates. All they need is the address. I get a couple of e-mails a week in my personal account from someone that has been dead for ten years. There's not anything supernatural going on - their e-mail address was simply hijacked.
