I don't know how I missed it, but it was well into the 60's when I first encountered Vivaldi from a friend who was a die hard fan. After the first time hearing the Allegro Non Molto, I came to two conclusions. First, that I'd become an immediate Vivaldi fan, and second - that he must have been on some really good drugs when he wrote this particular madness. (Hey! It was the 60's - what else was I supposed to think?)
I'm always been a fool for howling violins, but did this as a hybrid with my piano carrying the solo work. (I never did have a lick of sense.)
