With my long interest in classical music, I don't know how I missed this until about 1980.
At the time I was working on software for Radio Shack's TRS‑80 Color Computer, mostly to experiment with Motorola's new 6809 processor. Unlike most of the computers at the time, the "color computer" displayed color on a TV - and it had some limited sound capability.
One of the demo songs that came with it was Pachebel's Canon in D. As soon as I heard it, I dug up the music and have been playing it ever since.
