One of the songs my piano teacher introduced me to was Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata. At least, to the first movement, the Adagio Sostenuto, which is slooooooow.
Being me, I of course tried to play it about three times as fast. (There's a reason my music teachers ended up in mental health institutions.)
Anyway, I thought the first movement was all there was to the sonata. Then I ran into the 3rd Movement monster!
Just for the record, I didn't do this in one take and I didn't do it on a single piano. There are eight piano tracks spread between four pianos and they were recorded and re-recorded many, many times.
