Even old hard core, child of the Sixty's, ex-wannabe rock star hard rockers like me need to chill out once in a while. (I promise I won't make a habit of it.) This is the result - an eclectic (as usual) assortment of soft rock, ballads, even a 3/4 time waltz. In other words, just some quiet, slow pretty songs.

Put it on in the background for a quiet dinner, candles optional. Try it after dining while sipping brandy or a good single malt scotch. Use it to fill the soft gaps in relaxed conversation late at night. Slow dance to it across your living room. Read or study with it absorbing the dead air of the room. Even let it lullaby you to a gentle nap on the couch.

And yeah, if you are one of THOSE people - and if you've got a convenient elevator, you can play it there. Sheesh!!!

Music is many things, but one of the most important is that it's a companion. It makes the time pass more quickly when you're alone. It fills an empty room without taking up space or producing clutter. While driving, it eats up road miles and shortens even the longest trip. The nice thing about this batch is it's not likely to push you over the speed limit. (Probably not a good idea to listen to Maniac off my third album if there's likely speed traps ahead.)

By the way, Mr. Steinway give this a big thumbs up. He's the featured performer on most of it, (as if he needed anything else to stroke his already considerable ego!)

PS The album photo was taken on a Colorado winter trip. It was a cold windless day and the water on the small lake was as smooth as glass. Very quite, very serene, and very mellow.
