David Gates at his best. And - another song that I've always enjoyed more as a whole work than listening to the lyrics word by word. In some ways, it's more of a tone poem - kind of reminds me of Love Minus Zero/No Limit by Bob Dylan. It says a lot of things as a whole, but can be obscure on a word by word basis.
