At some point, I want to do Rachmaninoff's full Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini which has 24 variations. None of which to my ears bear much relationship to this varation 18. All the rest are much more "vigorous."
This and the title song both helped make Somewhere in Time very memorable. Not my normal type of movie, but I couldn't resist the music. Never did understand why it wasn't nominated for an Academy Award for Best Score.
