Album 16 - DJ Wannabe, Part 4 of 4 Cover Art in Color as shown on the Reeves Motal Piano and Synthesizer Music Website

This is the fourth album of a four album set of songs like you once would have heard on the radio, (and a few that you'd never hear on the radio - got to stay eclectic.) Guess maybe they still play some of them on the oldie's stations.

There is, however, one non-typical and very special song on this album. The last time I played it before now was in high school. It meant much to me even them. It took on a whole new level of significance when I raised my right hand and said,

"I solemnly swear
To defend the Constitution
Of the United States of America
Against all enemies
Foreign and domestic
."

Simple words, but once you place your mortal self into the middle of the fourth verse's "Between their loved home and the war's desolation," you are changed forever.

Patriotism seems to have mostly died in the 60's, which is a sad commentary on our society. I feel nothing but pity for anyone that can listen to The Star Spangled Banner without a chill running down their spine and bringing a glassy mist to their eyes. Those with "soul so dead" and a life so "unwept, unhonor'd, and unsung" are just residents of this country - citizens they are not.

Long may it wave,

Reeves

PS The album cover is a photo I took in Arizona with the Our Flag superimposed upon the cliff.
