Nope - it's not a misspelling - the "Moore" is correct. This album and the next are dedicated to my long suffering friends Jan and Richard Moore that have had eight previous CD's of my songs inflicted on them. (Don't tell Geneva - I've got enough problems without facing war crimes and human rights violations!) Amazingly, they are still seemingly sane, (even if they are my friends!)
Without their encouragement, (See Album 1,) it's doubtful that all of this would ever have happened. Thanks, Jan and Richard!
I gave Jan and Richard a list of songs I had in inventory and asked them to pick out some for these two albums. I limited them to about 20 selections so the songs would fit on a pair of CD's. I then added a few extra songs to fill up the left over space.
A few notes about the songs on this one. I've been experimenting with a lot of different sounds. For example, there was no way a piano alone could capture the dynamic power of Justin Hayward's vocal on Nights in White Satin - so - what you are actually hearing is a digital Tuba punched up multiple octaves into an impossible range for a deep bass instrument dueting with Mr. Steinway.
I wanted to try something different with a little more edgy resonance and particularly more sustain for Glenn Frey's vocal on Tequila Sunrise. After a lot of experimentation, what you are hearing is Mr. Steinway singing as usual, but with a lot of digital envelope shaping. It's maybe a little quirky, but hopefully you'll find it grows on you like it has on me.
I originally intended Glenn Miller's classic In the Mood to be a straight Big Band arrangement. Seemed way too easy - and too much like his version. So - since everything starts on a keyboard, I just left it as nothing but a lot of pianos and percussion - even the bass is a piano way down low.
Mr. Steinway demanded I include Same Old Lang Syne. What could I do? He's really pitiful when he gets his feelings hurt.

PS The album photo of the Bixby Creek Bridge on Highway 1 on the Big Sur Coast was selected for Richard as he's a California native. I took it on a three week trip driving around the northern part of the state ranging from Big Sur then north to Mendocino and finally back south through Sonoma and NapaWine Country. If you have never driven California's Highway 1 it definitely belongs on your bucket list.
